Michael Sonis, Professor of Geography, Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and Distinguished Research Professor, University of Illinois, received his Ph.D. from Moscow State University in 1967. He first came to the University of Illinois in 1986 as a Fulbright and George A. Miller visiting Professor. Currently, Dr. Sonis collaborates with the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory in several projects, including interregional trade models and the changing economic structure of the Midwest.
